ŽIG is a Belgrade upholstery workshop run by the Cvetković family, and upholstery is a craft we've nurtured for three generations. Over more than 20 years we've worked on classic and period furniture, interiors for cafés and restaurants, business spaces, as well as theatre set design, music festivals and other special projects.

Our carefully chosen palette of fabrics means everyone can find something to their taste — affordable prices, interesting patterns and quality materials, and if you like, you can bring your own fabric.
We upholster and reupholster all kinds of furniture — from classic armchairs and sofas, through dining chairs, ottomans and cushions, to complete interiors. Whatever you have, we've probably done something similar.
The price depends on the type of furniture, the amount of work and the fabric you choose. That's why we make every quote to measure — send us what you have (or bring a piece in), and we'll give you a clear, itemized quote, no obligation. For larger quantities and hospitality/business venues we offer special terms.
Approximate reupholstery prices for different pieces:
A general, sight-unseen estimate is nearly impossible, so we always ask you to send an inquiry. The prices shown are for information only, cover hand labour, do not include the fabric, and vary depending on the specific piece and its condition.
The price of reupholstery is made up of two components: the material used for the new cover (the variable component) and the time our craftsmen spend (the fixed component). When you send an inquiry, we recommend attaching a photo of the piece you'd like reupholstered, so we can immediately estimate the amount of material needed and the cost of the work.
If you want the piece covered in upholstery fabric or faux leather, we'll express the required amount in running metres, because the standard roll width for these materials is usually 140 cm. If you're interested in genuine leather, the amount will be expressed in square metres. Because the choice of material depends entirely on your taste and needs, we can't know in advance how much your material will cost — that's the variable part of the price. Keep in mind that material prices range from about €6 to €60 per running metre. So when we tell you a sofa needs 8 metres of upholstery fabric, the material will cost you at least €48 and at most €480. The time our craftsmen spend, on the other hand, generally doesn't depend on the chosen material, so that's the fixed part of the price.
One of the core values of the ŽIG upholstery workshop is honouring our written agreements. Beyond meeting our customers' requirements for the look and function of their furniture, it's very important to us that we keep to the agreed deadlines. For that reason, please note that the first available slot is a “sliding” one — it may have been offered to someone else as well as to you. This isn't meant to pressure your decision, but to show our commitment to meeting deadlines. Once you accept the terms of service, you secure that the reupholstery of your furniture begins on the offered date.
We've always valued training and passing on knowledge. Many of today's craftsmen and artists trained in our workshop. We formalized that effort through ŽIG Radionica — workshops where anyone can learn the basics of upholstery and make their own piece of furniture to take home.
